As if Kanye West shutting down NYC wasn't enough, Drake who is signed to Young Money/Cash Money released a surprised album titled "If You're Reading This Its Too Late". Many had been speculating the release for quite some time but had no actual evidence of when it may drop. Well the wait is over and it is finally here. Appearances include Travi$ Scott of G.O.O.D. Music, and Drake's artist who is signed to OVO PARTYNEXTDOOR. A few of my personal favorites include "Company","10 Bands", and "Know Yourself" but don't let me tell you whats hot. Do you think the "surprise release" strategy will continue to be an effective release strategy?
ReplyDeleteI believe that this strategy will be an effective one but only for so long, because just like every trend that has ever happened it will phase out. I also think the public needs to be aware of certain releases in order to gain momentum. All artists don't have the star power to pull off a surprise release.
